Field Validation for Individual Compensation and how to make certain fields display only in Oracle Fusion Cloud HCM


Hello everyone, In Today's Post Lets discuss on how we can set the start date in the individual compensation page to display only and also how we can put validation on the amount entered for individual compensation.



To achieve this, we can use Page composer feature in Oracle Fusion HCM which helps us to configure application page components, such as page content and layout of other users. we can also add, delete, move, how and hide fields 

First Step is to create a Sandbox. Its always good to create any changes using sandbox which will help us to test the change and then finally publish it to the live environment

To create a Sandbox we need to navigate to Tools--> Sandbox




Click on create Sandbox

Enter the Sandbox name and description and set the publish radio button to yes.



Select the page composer check box and click on 'Create and Enter' on the top right corner of the page


You will be land on the sandbox page

Sandbox will be similar to your live system

Navigate to Home--> My client Groups--> Compensation Apps--> Individual compensation--> Individual Compensation

Search for person and choose the start date and click on continue


Under Additional Compensation Click Add

Choose your compensation plan and option

Click on Settings and actions and select edit pages or click on tools and choose page composer




Go to select tab

Now highlight the start date field and click on edit components
Choose Expression Builder


Clear-out the expression and click on ok

Check the read only check box and click on apply

Now the start date field is read only

Click on close and click cancel and go to home

Next part is to set the amount validation
Under the same Sandbox as in previous step Navigate to My client groups--> Quick Actions--> Show more--> Payroll--> Elements
Provide your LDG and search for the element associated with your individual compensation
Click Amount from Input Values under element overview



On your righthand side of the page click on Edit and select correct
Under default entries values and Validation section set the min and max amount
by setting this you will be able to avoid any negative amount getting entered and also the amount exceeding max amount


Click on submit and go back to home
You can now test this by adding some negative amount for the individual compensation and save. error pop up message will be displayed restricting the save.


once you have tested all possible cases you can go ahead and publish the sandbox.
