Configuring and using Absence Bid in Oracle Fusion Cloud HCM Absence Management

I am back with and interesting topic today, its Absence Bid.

In Oracle fusion cloud absence management there is this feature which allows employee to submit two set of leaves and then manager can choose one among them and approve it.

Lets consider an example, You want to take your pending casual leave which otherwise will get lapsed in the year end. So, your okay to take leave from Monday to Tuesday or Thursday to Friday. In this case what you do is you submit both the possible dates under Absence bid as one first preference and other as Second preference and then manager will check the team schedule and approve either one of it which automatically leads for other to be denied.

Lets see how we can first enable this. in order to do so navigate to your absence type

Myclient Groups--> Absence -->Absence Definition--> Absence Type

Open your absence type , and click on edit--> correct

you will see the option below legislative Grouping Code 'Enable bidding'

Note: This option is only enabled when UOM is Days

 

select the check box and save and close. This is the easy and one step to enable the absence bid

Now lets see how we can use it. To submit a leave navigate to ME--> Time and Absences and Select Absence Bid

set your first preferences and enable add second preference check

set your second preference and Submit

Manager will see the two absence bid 

Submitting one bid will automatically rejects the other

it will appear in notification for approval

once approved it looks like this
